The teaching exhibition integrates the teaching achievements of College of Architecture and Urban Planning Tongji University along with China Academy of Art Shanghai Institute of Design.
It takes‘power’as the core issue, from the power generated by the retrospective power plant to the renewal of space to give new vitality, and then to the interpretation of the existence of power; from historical documents to centuries of imagination, from physical space to virtual media. Named ‘Power of Power’.

The exhibition is divided into three parts: History, Knowledge and Body.

HISTORY
Through the video and micro-files, the newly discovered archives are used as clues to present the historical moments of the Yangshupu Power Plant and the different stories in the era.

KNOWLEDGE
On the basis of identifying the scientific information of the production system and collective memory, we use design logic to discuss the future positive society and space through ‘question-research-goal-method illustrated expression’. It is worth noting that acquiring new knowledge is not only a personal accumulation process, but also a means of teamwork. At present, there is much room for improvement. The so-called power of Power.
Knowledge includes the postgraduate curriculum design of College of Architecture and Urban Planning Tongji University, the graduation design stage of China Academy of Art Shanghai Institute of Design, along with the joint design of Sino-German colleges.
The illustrations include the icon and advertising design of the Yangshupu Power Plant as well. The goal of visual communication is to refine the characteristics of the factory in the future, which is unique while difficult to emulate.

BODY
The teacher and students of China Academy of Art Shanghai Institute of Design in the audio-visual profession major expressed the power of body language in the abandoned workshop. As a functional production space, the factory may never have the behavior of body perception, thus interpret the spatial meaning from another creative perspective.
Unlike necklaces or rings, earrings are one of the most closely related accessories, both comfortable and stylish. This exhibition designed and created a pair of earrings related to power plants, and opened the creative design tour of Yangshupu industrial heritage for the first time.
